I've fitted 35W bayonet Volvo bulbs. They also have a 5w circuit so I fitted new (ex Spacecruiser brake light bulb), holders and wired the 5w circuit in with the side lights so I now have the nose cone lit when the lights are on. I always liked the rad emblem on the Wolsey.
Rob Drinkwater also located a bayonet halogen bulb, have a look on his web site, link from Ace Answers top right pane.

i butchered two old bayonet bulbs and new halogen bulbs to put the halogens into bayonet caps. a bit fiddly and the beam pattern may not be truly accurate as the centre of the bulb is a little too far forward, but it did the job!
