I have an low oil on my model f space cruiser
would the low oil cause over heating I have started to get or would it be the other way round I found my low oil when checking after slight overheat(pulled up and topped water before it went to bad)

thanks in advance

Jon,
Orange low oil light comes on with the dip stick level still showing within the marks. It is just an indicator to show that the level is getting low. The red one shows loss of pressure, which could be due to low level, blockage(s) or oil pump problems.
The oil does do some cooling and if the bores are less oiled this will cause more friction therefore more heat, this can help with overheating the engine.
Was it orange or was it red?

Well I guess it's a case of check.check and re check. Look for oil in the water, and drips when parked.
Once warmed up and running ok, try holding a piece of card over the end of the exhaust, with about a 2 inch gap and see what it gives you other than soot.
Best of luck.
