Tony,
You need to remove the upper dash trim (two screws, upwards, above the dials), by unscrewing and then gently easing it out otherwise the plastic lugs break. Then remove the four screws holding the combination meter (dials) in, pull it forward a little and get your left hand round to release the speedo cable. with it released pull it a little further and release the electical connectors. With the meter in your hands you will see a metal cube like thing attached to the back remove this but make sure you replace the retaing screws and then refit the meter.
Tip clean hands after refitting speedo, before you continue with the rest. Next tip make sure the speedo works before bolting up and replaceing the trim!
