(Home) Spare bulbs and audio

Hi, I have a Townie 2.0td manual 1992 import, can some some one tell me if halfords sell a bulb kit for this vehicle and if so what is ref number for it or do i have to purchase them seperatley. Also how do you access the front and rear lights in order to change bulbs i presume its from the outside the booklet does not say. And i still have installed the original audio system with the radio sitting above the casstte, is this one complete unit or can they be sepersted, i would like to replace the radio if possible with a CD player any recommendations as to how i do this.
Finally what is the closest equivelent to the townace as i cannot find when looking in the halfords booklets for filters bulbs wpier blades ect.

What you have is an import which means it isn't as easy as a UK spec model to source parts. Having said that, most of us on this site have found ways and means around this and there is much information about this and more technical stuff in the archives (follow the link above to AceAnswers).

Halfrauds is not your best place to source parts but you will get your bulbs, albeit not in a nicely packaged kit with Townace printed on it. Brakelight and indicator bulbs are pretty standard as are the headlight bulbs - 55W halogens. Best thing when buying any parts for these vehicles is to go along to a motor factor's with the original or a part number. Many of us have replaced the yellow foglight bulbs with halogens. These are sourced from specialist suppliers but again all is covered in the archives.

The rear light clusters come off by unscrewing the philips screws which are accessible once the tailgate is opened.

The front lights depend upon the model but again this has been dealt with before and is in the archives.

The radio is double DIN and both parts are interlinked. Better to replace with a single DIN aftermarket model to your choice and pocket and fill the gap with either a blanking plate or pocket. Again details can be found in the archives.

Filters and belts are all listed in the archives too. The wiper blades - just measure them and replace with whatever brand you like.

Finally now you have found this site, please feel free to return with any issues/problems. There are plenty of kind folk on here just itching to give you the benefit of their experiences. It's worth reading through the archives before posting a question as you will probably find your problem will have been answered before.

It's the measure of the space for the ICE (In Car Entertainment - CD/Radio/Tape) device. It's double in the Townace. In other words any after market unit will only occupy half the space left by the original one. You will have to block the hole with a blanking plate or recessed bin.
