(Home) Ace's on TV

Spotted several Ace's on the box this week.
1 Townace in NZ on Billy Connolly World Tour of NZ.
1 SpaceCruiser on Top Gear used in MPV racing.
2 Townace and 1 Liteace on Holiday Exchange, or whatever it is called, all in Victoria Australia.
Anyone seen the Xmas ad being re-screened?

There was also one on a house makeover show last week too. Cant remember the name of the show, but some woman decided that she would move rather than makeover, and a house she viewed had a townace on the drive.

Saw a programme the other night showing some NZ soldiers in a peace-keeping force in Afghanistan. There was a townace in the background, same shape/colour as one I have previously owned....1992, dark grey/silver, petrol.

Just seen a red one in the film "National Lampoon's Dad's Week Off" (but it was in USA, with sliding door on other side)

Just watched my son race a townie around London ramming police cars and running over pedestrians!!!

I kid you not The Getaway on PS2 has Townies!! I was actually quite impressed with the accuracy and detail of the vehicle including its sluggish pull away and body roll on corners and bumps, even has the trademark rear parking mirror and roof sky lights. Doesn't however sound right or leave a smoke screen to help lose the filth ;)

New shape Townace in the car park hypnotist sketch on the Little Briton show, any claim to fame to shopping in ASDA?

Andy McNab's latest paperback, Dark Winter, has a "dented rusty white Lite Ace" as vehicle of choice for a terrorist. The "hero" manages to spill rather a lot of terrorist blood on the front seats by the end of chapter one.

Did anybody see "The Best of Top Gear" on BBC2 tonight (Sunday, 16th Jan)?

They had SpaceCruisers, Lucidas, Espaces and others doing a rally race. They were not supposed to have body contact - but they did. It was really funny (and sad) seeing old SpaceCruisers bashed about like Stock Car Racing.

When one of the SpaceCruisers went round a bend, the commentator said, "The SpaceCruiser is more like a Space Hopper" It was hopping sideways on two side wheels.

Sorry, Clive, if I have upset you.

The two Espaces came first and second. If it's repeated, it's worth watching (except Clive might need a hanky)

Yep, seen that, and even done that cornering!
The sad thing was that the body on the Spacecruiser was in pretty good nick before the race.

if I find a townace I might enter mine

Surprised it didn't do better- the Espace is plastic, plus the Spacie has the bonus of no accessible radiator to damage...

Perhaps if it had the same speed as the Espace, one was a V6 and both kept the lead and much less of the bumping, then it would have stood a chance. It was still moving at the end and in reasonable, but battered, shape ! As for the Serena......
