(Home) Mysterious air filter wire

hi clive,dave and everybody.
here's hoping that you all ok.
i was looking under seat checking all levels,
when at the back of the engine right up near seat hinges there is a green wire not connected to anything also an empty socket on a single white wire
down by base of air filter, not connected to anything.
any idea what they are for?????

I think there is a connection to the air filter base that is something to do with cold starting.
Has the green wire got any ends on it or is it just chopped off?

Hi Clive.
Many thanks for the quick reply.
The green wire stops just near the carb,The grey wire
has a single flat pin socket,but that is down beside air filter box. Also there is a round thingy underneath filter box which somebody said is a charcoal filter,to combat fuel smells,are they refillable?
