i have a 934x4 model and mine came with 205/70/14 installed.from what i understand, that was the original size intended for townaces, but the dealers would change them 2 a 185/70/14.why?im not sure.but my ace rides much better with the 205,s than all of my friends vans with the smaller tires. plus it looks a little better.

oh,sorry,i thought you ment tire size...

The standard tyre should be 195. 185s are put on as they are far cheaper and more readily available.
Don't know about the wheels, try a wheel stockist they may have the answer. I doubt there will be room to fit spinners without fouling the rear wheel arch.

Larger sized 205's add comfort but reduce economy. Micro and electric vehicles have the skinnyiest tyres, as they are usually only light powered, and light weight. Not only economy but road handling changes with tyre sizes. As an off road cyclist, its amazing how different a mountain bike feels with different tyres. Lowering the profile:70 largest, then 65 and 60 profile, improves handling especially cornering but will gear down the vehicle, sometimes as much as 17%, OR even more if you change from 14" to 13" rims. Your 195/70/14's could in theory go to 60/13's of various widths. Profile: is side wall size of tyre. More side wall, more wallow in corners. Less daimeter, lower geared, less top end for highway speed, economy may be worse. Under 50m/hr driving-- great, better handling same ecomomy. Over 50m/hr driving---benefits reduced, driving on straighter roads, higher speeds so cornering is not such an issue, but the engine spins faster in top gear at higher speeds reducing economy. I'm city based, and do much driving at 30miles an hour. Low profile 60/14's give better performance for sure, the added benefit is height of vehicle is lowered, again helping handling AND economy. If I commuted by highway every day I may stick with tyhe bigger ones. Alloy wheels around 18' rims look great, but they and tyres can be expensive, then the sound machine, the pod filter, custom exhaust and your set.
