(Home) Smoke looked on answers cant find my prob

Well Dave I'm on here again I really thought your advice would be it and I could sell my beloved townie, but.....NO
On idle i have Blueish.white smoke pouring from the exhaust, on pulling away it disappears, but then...the OIL LIGHT comes on????
I have enough oil in the block, 15/40 good exspensive thick oil.
Dave if your reading this all this has only happeend when I changed the thermostat, that cured the NO HEATING PROBLEM but now I have this smoke.
It only happens when stopped after driving (at lights/junctions etc etc) pull away & drive it goes, put it in reverse and slowly drive loads of smoke again, put it in drive??? away the smoke goes.
Its a diesel 2litre Auto if anyone else has some answers....PLEASE
(All I wanna do is sell her, I have a company car now)

Check the breather pipe between valve cover and inlet for blockages. If that's OK, I'd suggest the turbo is dying.
When you say oil light, do you mean the red one or the orange one?

Hi there Dave

Its a Brand new turbo, and the light is the Orange one

Does this make a difference then?
NOT being a mechenic I aint got a clue what you guys are talking about, BUT if you tell me what to do I'm pretty good at most things

Orange light means top up your oil. It'll come on BEFORE the oil is at the low end of the dipstick...

Like I said, check the breather hose for kinks or blockages.
