Dave Bright, Dave Mason, Ian Dunse, John Davis,
Dave Miller.THANK - YOU ALL SO MUCH, because without
all your help, we would still be stuck at problem 1.

and see you all at Brean 2005!!!.
Thank you all once again,
Andy Richards(Bridport)

"still be stuck at problem 1"

I somehow doubt that Andy, you must be something of an expert now after all the hours you have put into your van. I'm sure I speak on behalf of everyone that your sentiments are much appreciated and I echo your best wishes to everyone - happy holidays!

Ian

merry christmas and a happy new year one and all!

a word of warning to those new to a 2wd ace - they are a nightmare in snow and ice, take it easy out there!

Now I seem to recall you once saying you don't need a 4WD in Bristol?

Smug :-)

Yeah, no but....
I'll be visiting North Kent over the predicted cold spell, always catches a bucket full straight off of the North Sea. I know to crawl around any corner in adverse conditions, else you are likely to see the rear end overtake the front, and end up face to face with a very startled driver of the car behind!
Not such a problem if you have bothered to use 4WD, of course if you 4WD owners are still in RWD the above applies to you also.

Absolutely! But the number of times I would have been completely stuck without being able to switch to 4WD. I had some very hair-raising times with my Spacie so the 4WD on the Townie is my 'get out of jail free' card.

As you say in RWD the same applies and when it starts to slide it's brown trousers time. BTW it's even scarier when the RWD MR2 goes as it's usually at much higher speeds. First sign of heavy snow and it's going in the garage!

Have a safe and careful Xmas.

Andy, it is most kind of you to go to the trouble of mentioning the help you have received and, I see my name included. However, I admit to my deviousness here because, any posting which I have made, has really been to generate some discussion wherebye amateurs like me can learn a bit more. It has worked and, without this BOK, and the help and assistance which I have found, my Ace motoring, over the last four years, would, no doubt, have been a lot less satisfying and less pleasureable than it has really been. I am constantly impressed by the good nature and willingness of those contributors, who go to such great lengths to help out with the many problems which these vehicles can be afflicted, and, without the rancour and bad manners which seem to afflict some other "help" forums.
Happy motoring, and thanks, to all those "electronic" personalities who give us so much assistance.
