Hello all and i hope you all had a nice christmas.

I wonder if anybody could lead me in the right direction with this one please.

After the last two days, I have an intense rattling noise appearing to be coming from under the drivers seat and the turbo has been coming on later and later to the point now when it doesn't come on at all now.

Will somebody please tell me, (and mean it) that the turbo hasn't died.

I have taken the seat out and the panel underneath and it seems that the rattling is coming from the area where there is a rubber hose and a plastic hose going down the side of the engine. but I cant locate the noise after that.

When I turn the engine on, I can hear it and when I switch the engine off, it appears to slow down to a stop as if whatever is making the noise is spinning with the engine. The noise is the same in all gears.

It is an F reg Master-Ace Surf 4WD Diesel 2CT Auto if this helps anybody.

sounds like the turbo is dying. best get it looked at sooner rather than later- if the turbo breaks up it may well take the engine with it...

Would this explain lots of black smoke coming from the exhaust?
