Has anyone discovered a towbar from another vehicle that will fit a 4WD Townie. The reason I ask is because I am going to be charged 200 quid to have 1 made.
Cheers
Kevin

Nope, there nothing else that'll go straight on. Amongst other things, the chassis legs aren't pre-tapped on jap- import vehicles.
Who did you get that price from? Have you tried Watlings?

I got the price locally here in N.Ireland.
I checked out a few prices in England, but by the time you pay postage it works out quite expensive.

My local Towbar center fitted a bar in between the bumper and the rear my townie he used one from a Toyota Hiace of the same year
1992, my townie is a CR30G-PEZX 02/1992
There was a slight modification eg one corner had to be ground away.so the bar didnt scratch the plastic skirt of the bumper.

Locally as in Dave Murphys? Bah. Used to be a chap out towards Carrick that made very much to order, cheap too.
Where are you/ what are you needing to tow?
Bear in mind also that since the type approval thing came in, prices (even for non type-approved) seem to have risen rather. Also, there's quite a bit of fabrication required...
I'm in Ards, BTW.
