(Home) Cylinder head sealant

I seem to remember reading about an American product for sealing cylinder head gaskets. I think the idea was to pour the liquid into the radiator.

I seem to remember Townie owners reporting good results.

Can anyone tell me what the product was and where I could buy some.

Many thanks

There is a product in the UK made by WYNNS, it is their Cylinder Block Sealant, but I gues it would work on some Head crack as well.

It is classed as a professional product, so only available from Motor Factors who stock Wynns products.

However, follow the instructions VERY carefully, as the sealant will not work with Anti Freeze present, so flushing is essential..

Hope this helps,

Regards Rob.

Hi,there is a sealant that is supposed to work with any type of anti freeze. It is called K-seal.It says there is no need to flush the system first and it seals, engine block leaks, cylinder heads, gaskets, radiators, freeze plugs and heater cores. If that is of any use to you the phone number on the bottle is 0800 783 3717.Or their website is www.kalimex.co.uk

K-Seal is available through ebay, make sure you order it from shabster786, the only one authorised to sell it in the UK.
It will be tested in a Townace 2CT engine once it arrives, no it is not mine.
Will report back on the outcome. It just maybe that glovebox, get you home, peace of mind repair kit!
