(Home) Where is radio amplifier

Can anyone help . i fitted a new cd player into my townie , everything worked until , i turned the volume up about half way. Since then i have not had any sound unless i direct wire in a speaker to the back of the unit. This means there must be an amplifier i have to wire around. Problem is i can find it ? i have a 1990 japanese RHD import townace with cool/heat box. Has anyone any ideas.

thanks

I answered this the first time you posted...

i have checked where you said but can not see anything that resembles an amplifier?

Well, it's in there somewhere. The parts info depicts a short loom out of the tuner, with the amp (looks like a heatsinked module about 2"x2"x8") beneath.

There's an alternative system tho that has a "component" amp that's actually the lower unit of the two. Looks like it's got one knob on the front just.

Don't some models have an integrated TV/HiFi all-in-one one, located next to the screen washer bottle?
Not on the parts CD but in the pictures on Ace answers.
I would guess that the power output from the new unit was too much for the old amp - new amp the way to go?

That's news to me, Clive. Maybe post'92, but more likely that it's a remote tuner for the TV rather than a complete system in the back.
