(Home) Oil leak from sump plug Liteace

Ugh! Such a simple operation! I changed the oil on my girlfriends liteace van (84 model) Now I can't get the sump plug to seal... i've tried about 10 different washers... There appears to be a groove located in and near the thread which assists in the draining of the oil however no washer i can find will seal that groove and as such i continual drip has resulted? HElp!
kindest regards

Any chance the threaded insert in the sump has cracked?

If you have tried a number of washers, it does indicate that the leak is not from the face of the sump drain boss but from, possibly, a crack, as David suggests. This boss is probably welded in and you need to examine it carefully, a difficult job considering it's location. PTFE tape is a good standbye and you can get a small roll from plumbers merchants or DIY outlets. A few turns of PTFE tape over the threaded part of the plug, and a few more turns to form a "washer" under it's head, might just seal that leak. The PTFE tape will mould into a small crack and it might just do the trick until a more permanent repair can be carried out.
