(Home) Oil use (re-turbo)

Hello there again,

Posted a fault earlier about blue smoke and it seems like the turbo.
After taking the turbo off the exhaust side is only black with soot, no oil in the exhaust, but the inlet pipe from turbo to inlet manifold is all oiled up so the oil is going into the engine via the inlet manifold. Does this mean that there is an oil seal in the turbo faulty????.

Sugestions please.

René

Not necessarily, as there is always oil in the inlet due to the crankcase breather.

Can't recal the previous query, but did you check the breather hose for blockages?

H'i Dave
The query is that the Townie is using a lot of oil and the exhaust front pipe which joins to the manifold looks very dry (not oily) yet the pipe going to the inlet manifold is very oily, so I really don't know what to do.
The original query is under (electrolisis) I didn't start a new one.
Hope you can guide me.
Many thanks,

René.

Yes, the breather pipe could be at fault, also, is the exhaust gas recirculation system still operative on your vehicle? With this device operating, the inlet pipe will get very oily/sooty. Most of us blank off the EGR valve and there is a lot of information in the archives.
