(Home) Broken central locking motor

Hi Everybody,
And here's hoping you all had a great xmas and that everything goes well for you in 2005!.
My problem is this, went out to van yesterday morning unlocked drivers door, pressed button on drivers armrest, heard snap from inside front passenger door, and found that where link goes from motor to lock,on the motor the hole is broken. Now I've found an E reg liteace with full central locking, and the motor and lock are all in one complete unit, question is will it fit straight in Spacecruiser front doors?,are all these locks the same?, good thing is the connections are the same. Many Thanks
Andy Richards(Bridport)
P.S Clive, the restoration work has started again!

Hi there andy,

The part CD shows a round type with a bellows and bit of rod as well as a more square unit that fit directly to the door lock. Both called the same and fit the same models, the round one is the older type.
A case of fit and see?

Hi Clive.
Thanks for the prompt reply,so the older round type has a link rod going from the motor to the lock, and the more square newer type is direct fit to lock, with no need for link?, if so might as well upgrade to newer type, before that happened it was working ok.
Thanks once again Clive,ALL THE BEST FOR 2005!

Andy, just got to Maplin and get a universal actuator, code YD79L. Comes with bracket and link rod for £7.99.

(or, if you've a use for more of them, a complete kit of four actuators, controller and loom is £19.99, YD77J) No idea why they do that...
