are the sills part of the mot on a space cruiser as mine as just failed on them

Well no but,
The outer sills on an Ace do not form part of the chassis structure so on that count should not be part of the MoT. Should there be rusting next to any body/suspension mounting points, I forget the measure but 3 inches comes to mind, then perhaps they mean chassis corrosion. The other point could be sharp edges body damage, just hammer it in/tape it over!
Ask to be shown the exact area of concern, if it is anywhere near the bottom of the panel and not over the rear wheel arch (and even there I would argue the toss), refer them to the MoT Manual.

thanks clive there at the bottom of the outer sill no sharp edges they are failing it because its fibre class
witin 30 cm of suspension

The body is pressed/folded and spot welded along the bottom edge, so not part of the structure. Just because that has been removed and replaced by glass fibre, filler or metal riveted on has no bearing on the suspension. I sure many fibre glass bodies cars come closer than 30 cm from all structual points. I'd go back and have a one to one about it, but then I am bigger than you!

i got a big base ball bat and can run fast
i will take into differant mot place next week end
and see what happens

jon I had a mitsubishi once that failed mot on corroded sills because it was within 30cm of a suspension fixing point. Perhaps this is what they mean.Base ball bat and fast trainers sounds better though.
