(Home) hot/cold box

hello all, here i am again with yet another proberlly daft question.
got me a k 93 townace last week, the hot/cold box seems to be working fine as does the air con in general. to make ice in the cold box do you slide the little white panel inside of the ice box off and use the metal shelf area ??? if so do you replace the little white slidey off door when making ice ?.

also should it come with some sort of ice tray as mine aint got one.

once again thanks to all and to dave for the most helpfull website.

(being new is not much fun, but i'm learning)

Yes, works with and without and yes.
It's a plastic container, flat bottle shaped, with ice cube tray as the bottom side, with a neck large enough to get the cubes out. Leak proof and i suspect a very rare Toyota item!

I don't think I can post a picture but I will e-mail a picture to you direct. I wonder if a camper van supplier could provide something similar because they must have a similar problem with water spilling when the vehicle is in motion.

Thanks Frank, got you picture fine, and thank you for confirming my theory.
I'm sure the kids will love ice poles being made in the ol'Van.
Have to investigate about some ice tray/bottle's if i get any joy i will post and let people know just in case.

Just thought i would post what Frank kindly Emailed me just in case others need to know.

Hi Daniel
You seem to have the measure of it. Yes, you slide off the little white panel and make ice on the shelf with the white panel back in place, and yes it should have two special ice trays. These are a cross between an ice cube tray and a plastic bottle with a water tight lid so the water doesn't slop everywhere when you go round a corner. I'll send you a photo of them if my camera will co-opperate.

If you don't have the proper ice trays the system is brilliant at freezing ice pops which really wows your kid's friends when you take a crowd of them out in yor ace! ( Not much use in a gin and tonic though.)

Frank
