just been for a run in my townace 2lt auto dies.having just had a low milage gear box and engine fitted engine is running like a swatchand tenp never went above half way. but it seems to be changing up and down the gears a lot and when it reaches 40000 rev there is a warning bell that has a continious ting ting ting sound to it untill i lift my foot and let the ravs drop below the 40 thou then it stops is this a warning bell of some sort thanks

did you try putting it into 4th gear? That ding is speed-related, and it sounds like you were in third gear...

just been pionted out buy the missus that the ting ting ting as only just started since i fitted a new speedo gear and cable the speedo has never been working untill now, is there a speed alarm .
