(Home) 1988 masterace,2ct,rev-counter

Hi all,Recently, while on a long trip(100Kls+)the rev-counter in my Masterace started to become unsteady and drop away, and the further I travelled the more it wavered?Seems as if it is a heat orientated problem,as when overnighting, problem doesnt re-appear until motor is heated up!ie:100 kls down the road!)
Where is the rev counter driven from, assuming of coarse that it is electrical, and has anyone else experienced simular problem.

Just completed a 4400 Kilometer tour around both North & South Islands of NZ as I have done 3 years in a row.
averaging around 35-36 MPG.I live in Invercargill, the most Southern city in the World!

Trevor, the sender is an inductive pickup on the injection pump. Peer down between pump and engine and you'll see it with two wires sticking out...
