hiya, i have a j reg 2.0 t/d townace and noticed the front outer sides of wheels wearing more than rest of tyre. I have been to a couple of tyre places but they all say .."sorry mate its a jap import innit!?" unless I have the 'settings' or whatever for the wheels they cannot do the allignment!

is your vehicle 2 or 4WD? It makes a difference. If 4WD, the front tyres tend to wear more on the outside anyway. Running with higher than specified pressures helps. Between 38 and 42 psi is good.
