(Home) wheel allignment

ok I have checked the ace answers archive stuff for the correct specs for my 2.0 t/d 4wd j reg townace, but, I am having difficulty pin pointing exactly which is specifiec for my townie. I did find some specs for a CR30 tracking. Is this it?? I have copied this page, so if correct I can take to my tyre man and he should be ok?? should I advise to to set the tracking slightly off to offset the wear on outer wall of tyre?? never new there was so much to consider with tyres!!! thanks.

You might look at the VIN number or the model code for your townie. It should start CR30xxxxxx. Just about all the 4x4s we see here are CR30s and most of the 2wd cars are CR21s. So yes, the figures on AA (that I requested from Toyota GB about six years ago now...) are correct for your car.

Just to add to David's advice, no don't try and compensate for the wear with the tracking adjustment. Adjust to the specs given. Inflating the tyres to 38 - 42psi will help to reduce wear and give better fuel consumption. Also swap the wheels with the rears after about 12k miles. I've had 25k miles from my sets of previous tyres using these techniques, which I don't think is bad. I'm on my fourth set now BTW.

Paul, where abouts did you find the info? I've scouted through and don't seem to be able to find anything.

Thanks
