(Home) clutch release cylinder, help please

Ok so its a nice day and i decide to bleed and change the Clutch Brake Fluid in me 2ltr td manual rwd K 93 Townie. Everything was going great, but whilst pumping the clutch peddle (it was getting harder) as i was bleeding it the clutch release cylinder made a splurty pop noise and the pressure that was starting to build then went.
Now the peddle is complety light (No pressure wot so ever) and now when i'm pumping the peddle no fluid comes from the nipple. The resivour is full of brake fluid but there is no pressure on the peddle or no fluid coming from the nipple.
So could it be that the Clutch release cylinder has give up, because if i manually pump this cylinder by hand again no fluid come out and no fluid gets sucked up the pipe.

My Gears have started to get worse to change into especially when the van is cold, could this have been the first sign of a dodgy cylinder.

Please Advise me guys, dont like me van beeing of the road.

Pumping the pedal should get fluid to the slave cylinder, are you/did you pump it slowly?
I suspect your train of thought is correct and you may have a problem with the master cylinder. I would have thought you would get a puddle in the foot well though.
To get at the master cylinder it is a dash out followed by air vent ducts and there you are - happy Easter!

The clutch master cylinder is fed off the brake fluid resorvoir if you have no fluid at the slave cylinder the seal in the clutch master cylinder has proberly split and come out of its grove, as clive says the whole dash has to come out to get to it, had to do my servo recently and took whole day to remove and replac. will try and email you some photos if i can find them....

Oh Woe is me, why did i ever twiddle about with me van in the first place. At least a dodgy gear change was better than none at all.

Anyway just wondering can you get a fixing kit for the master clutch cylinder, if so how easy is it to do. Plus when reattaching the cylinder do i need to use a Torque wrench to tighten the union bolt thingy.

Thanks Guys for all ya help,
Dan

Dan
You may well have an air lock in the master cylinder?
Opening up the bleed nipple quite a bit,and wait so time for the fluid to drain down or try and blow into the brake/clutch resivour may force fluid back into the master cylinder if your lucky.
If not you may have to take out the master cylinder.

The union bolt thingy (hay someone speaks my language!), should be torqued to 40ft-lb or 550 kg-cm, or tight using a socket/ring spanner or very tight using an open ended spanner.
Where in the country are you?

Clive, i live near Bluewater in kent.

So if i just tighten the livin hell out of it, it should be fine then ?? The union bolt that is.

Thanks to Clive and eveyone else.
