(Home) crankshaft timing

i have a toyota 2c diesel i have changed my timing belt however i cannot locate the timing /alignment marks for the crankshaft can some one please help

this is not easy to see, especially with the belt in position but, the belt drive pulley, on the crankshaft, is marked, at it's rear, with a groove which must align with another groove/mark on the front face of the engine block. if you are using engine manual code rmo25e, all the alignment marks are shown on page em-35

thanks John however i dont have a manual can you give me an approximate location of the mark on the front face of the engine block

Difficult to explain as I am going from memory but, I think it is a vertical groove. If you care to advise an email address, I can scan the illustrations in the manual. However, I don't like my email address to be seen on a public forum as it invites the spammers in droves and, your feelings may be the same. Don't be such a cheapskate. The engine manual only costs £8.50 from any Toyota dealer.

The manual is not avaiable from all dealers and, sometimes, has to be ordered. If you are still wanting the timing mark illustration you will find it on the link below. I hope that it is helpful.
