I find it a bit confusing when some refer to all Toyota MPV's as "Aces". Understand Town Ace and Lite Ace, High Ace etc., but do Space Cruisers come under this category ?

The basic shape is the same I suppose, but with upgrades etc.

There are Petrol and Diesel engines but what are which ??

Some early Cruisers have an 1810cc engine but is this petrol or diesel I know they go under engine codes but mine is a 1988 Petrol model with a 1998cc engine

The diesels seem to be 2000cc but what codes are which

Petrol engines are Y series, diesels are C series.

Yours is a 3Y engine.
Toyota only sold petrol versions of the Spacecruiser in the UK, and only one trim level.

so are all diesel engined mpv's from a foreign country and are imports ?

or does that only apply to space cruisers ?

Toyota did not sell the Townace/Masterace/Liteace (MPV version) in the UK, as far as I know they were for Japan only. Similar also for Estima/Emina/Lucida - the UK export being the Previa.
Don't know if the Previa was launched with a diesel option.
