(Home) Jam 2005 Brean

Just 5 weeks to go! My sons arm should be out of plaster by then, he did the annual Brean arm break, same arm same place, just a few weeks too early!

The Warren Farm Ace Jam is booked for 13-16 May 2005.

Want a fun weekend, swap a story or two, find out how to get the thingy of the dodah without breaking it, then read on? Seriously we have a great exchange of info, if you come away with just one, "now I understand" it will have been worth the trip! There will be available a small selection of spares, some hand books and the odd manual on CD. I'm sure that there will also be some Townace.com window stickers. I run my ACE on waste chip shop oil, happy to talk to any one about that, and demonstrate the mouth watering aroma from burning the oil, and the odd tub or two for sale at special Ace Jam price.
Price per night is charged on a sliding scale with relation to numbers attending, but should be around £6 a night per vehicle, regardless of number of people and if it is tent, caravan or sleep in the Ace, extra for electric hook-up. Pets allowed under control.
No need to book just turn up.

The attached Beachcomber Bar runs an evening entertainment for young and old. It also has an extensive evening menu, along with a lunch time snack menu. The on-site snack bar does a good breakfast/lunch/snack, and there is a very good Chinese/chip shop not to far away, on-site shop sells ready to eat snacks- so there is no need to cook if you don't want to!
On site lake fishing (don't know about seasons but you anglers will), shore sea fishing. Miles of sandy beach. Small fun fair not far away, Cheddar, Wells and Glastonbury all very near.

Still don't fancy camping out - well visit for the day for free!
All Toyota MPV welcome, yes, yes, yes even Previas.
I’ve no objection to other makes – Merc-limo, Delicia and the like attending but beware the talk will be Toyota talk!

Clive, I've posted your latest details on the Hiace forum, I think there is at least one other coming (Ed) with his Hiace camper conversion, also Chris Turner may come down.

I haven't sourced any amber bulbs over here yet but will have a go on Monday. The yanks are all complaining cus diesel and petrol just hit $3 a gallon, or 40pence a litre in real money!

We plan to arrive on the Friday evening.

Jason (who is working in the US at the moment)- I guess that means we have someone coming from the US!

For those of you who have asked Warren-farm locks the gate at 10.00 p.m.. The gate is manned by a security guard who may or may not allow you to walk tents in, but not vehicles!

Extract from the rules and regs -

For the comfort of other visitors we ask guests to arrive before 10.00pm. If you wish to arrive later please use the car park opposite the main entrance.
For security the main gates are locked nightly, if guests wish to leave the park before 8.00am. please use the car park on the night of departure.

Not my rules, if you arrive late on Friday I shall be in the bar, my lamp will be in the porch of my tent, it will have a Townace parked in front of it. Ah, memories of Bridport and Woodvale tent and trailer tent midnight pitching!

We want to combine doing Brean bootsale with an evening with Towny folk. We shall probably arrive Sat evening. Can anyone tell me where the farm is located?

Hoping to meet some new people if I can get my Townie back together. Bought Andy Lees from AGL, Royal Lounge and it keeps springing water leaks waiting for oil cooler hose from Toyota. You'll have to excuse the dents as well, insurance company wants to write it off after some kind driver ran into the side of it this week and drove off. Trying my best to keep the old girl alive.

- (#550) Chris (Taunton), 6 May 05 20:09

Chris,
if its springing leaks all over the place, you might need to change the rad cap. If its faulty and allowing too much pressure, it will cause your symptoms. The correct cap should be rated to 0.9 bar, 13.5 PSi

clive do i tell you in advance i need eectric hook up

- (#550) jon, 9 May 05 11:20

Hi guys!

Where, in Brean, is Warren Farm? Haven't been to an Ace Jam before, but I'm due that way for a few days for a caravan break - might be able to drop in!
Tony

www.warren=farm.co.uk have a location map

- (#550) jon, 9 May 05 14:17

jon, Clive is away this week, but I think you just turn up with an electric lead, plug it in, and pay clive for it when he collects the fees the following day.

- (#550) dave Bright, 10 May 05 02:06

thanks dave
see you all there

- (#550) jon, 10 May 05 03:21

Many thanks for the advice Dave. Can the kind person who sent Dave a reply in my name please refrain from doing so in future. I'm quite capable of answering my messages and without insulting people. Still have fingers crossed for Brean but it's not looking good at the mo.

- (#550) Chris, 10 May 05 18:54

Chris,
please accept my appologies for going off on one. Obviously I realise it wasnt you but the troll.

- (#550) dave Bright, 11 May 05 02:12

Thats quite alright Dave, you should know me by now. I'm not the sort of person to go off half cocked, not like some people.

- (#550) Chris, 11 May 05 11:14

It's Saturday evening, the wind has dropped and the BBQ is on. Neil had just started to put the burgers on! Smashin!

Weather turned out good today even though we all nearly got blown across the field last night.

A big thanks to the HIACE's that turned out this year.

Jason
