(Home) side windows in Liteace van

Does any body know if you are able to fit side windows into a Lite ace panel van??!
I have Lite ace, Diesel,'91....have just obtained double seats for back, coach seats. All i need now is to fit side windows, dont know if this is possible?? Would Town ace windows fit?

Also..... is it common fault for overheating?

Have read many notices on this from other aces/ace-ers! .

Yes drove it 10miles, on flat road, not too fast, and over heated very very badly.Limped the poor little van home. Have not given it a run yet. Could it just be getting a new thermostat?

Thankyou in advance

Ian

Not as simple as that Ian. Don't recall examining a Liteace van but typically the bodyshell for a van is different to the MPV. Think you need to cut out the metal panels and insert fixed glass with beading etc. Seen it done on other vans with varying degrees of success. No, Townace windows won't fit, different bodyshell to the Litace but again panels are made up differently.

Seats - fitted seatbelts yet?

Overheating - yes the achilles heel for these vehicles but don't let it put you off. Read up in the archives for much information on symptoms, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. Most of us have been there so I doubt you have a problem that hasn't been addressed already.

Hi Ian, thanks for reply/advice.Ok... yes have seen this done on other vans (windows for side), seen it with the VW vans. Maybe will have to have fitted in this way . Have removed old thermo, followed instructions from archives, (dangled into the saucepan of boiling water!), and thermo will only move (open/close) when the water is very very rapidly BOILING (bubblin). so bought new thermo yesterday,...am hoping it is just this which will cure it!.
Seems the over heating with these aces are quite a common thing eh
Seats....yes, they came with fitted lap belts.

Have yet to bolt them to floor of van. . .should be straight forward?!...hopefully anyway..

Thanks for help Ian.

Couple of last things...
Is there anywhere in the world that i could get hold of a manual for this van do you know?

And...
Towbar?!...
Want to get one on my van,is this poss/been done before ?

Cheers

Manual - doesn't exist (in English anyway), which is one of the main reasons why this site came into being. Owners sharing knowledge which is aggregated on the AceAnswers site. Worth a good read before you get problems then use it as a manual thereafter. You can get a workshop manual for the engine from your Toyota dealer for £8.50 - a good buy. Several of us have a mixture of SpaceCruiser, US Van and Russian Townace (in Russian) manuals. Between them we have access to just about everything covering the Townie and Liteaces.

Towbars - yes some contributers have them, details on AceAnswers.

hi, ok thank you.
Have found this site most usefull.... a great idea to have been created.Didnt think manual avail....no-one knows of an ace manual.
Will look into towbar...

Fitted thermo....all seems to be fine.Have let it run on 'tick over' for 40 mins...... and no sign of over-heating ,temp showed very good too, and internal heater seems to be operating much better now....( i pray!).
Have not given it a run yet, this will be the real test.
Ok, will get manual for engine.

Cheers again for help mate

Just ticking over won't test it. You need to give it a good thrash at speed, long hills and preferably well loaded.

The link below sell liteace windows, fixed or sliding.
