(Home) petrol tickover

I had a few problems after my alternator was rebuilt
some of the dash lights stayed on but they have cured that but now I do not have my nice tick over.

Before when I had this proiblem I found that the ENGINE fuse was blown so I renewed it and all was okay with the tickover. But the fuse is okay this time.

Now the alternator mech never touched anything other than the alternator and all the belts are tensioned.

So where is the tickover adjuster ?

The one that is in full view on the front of the carb operates off of a small cam plate attached to the vacuum solenoid on the carb..BUT THIS DOES NOT TOUCH THIS PLATE WHEN IDLING ONLY IF YOU ACCELERATE.

Now if I lift this idling screw it increases the revs so if there was and identical screw the other side of the carb that worked off of a fixed plate this I could understand....but it is difficult to see behind the carb and more difficult to adjust a screw.

So does anyone know where the idling adjustment is on a carb model Please??

Rik - What is the 'disc' that you mention? Where did you get it? How much was it? Cheers!

Hi Mike..

It was on ebay a buy it now for £9.99.

It is a disc covering the petrol EFI models I could make you a copy of it if you want one.

Rik,

I've looked on Ebay and on Google but cant find any reference to the disc.

I've got a 2 litre EFI townace and would like a disc.

If you can do me a copy it would be great. How would I go about paying you?

You can email me on 'mandcsiddall@onetel.com' or ring me on 01253 779676

Cheers,

Mike
