I messed up with posting this as I accidentally put it on the rusting question thread.

I wanted to post a piccy of my carb, which seems to be a different one from the ones Ian kindly sent me.

I tried with an outside URL and that works but you ave to highlight it and put it in the address bar and I wondered if there ewas a quicker way

RIK. Yes, I think pictures which you have already uploaded to an "outside" URL can be made to appear inside your message by putting the URL in the "Optional Image URL" field at the bottom. As an example I'll try putting "http://www.mpvi.net/ig/igacepic.jpg" in that filed on this message. The disadvantage of this method is that if it is a large image - lots of KB - then the message can be slow to load for users like me who dial-up the site. My sample is a small image in every sense.

I think that what you did was put your image URL in the top "Optional Link URL" field with "new acquisition" in the middle "Link Title" field. That method seems to be intended for links to other pages but works, after a fashion, for images as well. It's good because the user can decide whether to follow the link at the foot of your message. Unfortunately, and this is why I saw "after a fashion" this eccentrix system has a fatal flaw in that the footnote with the Optional Link totally disappears as soon as anyone adds another mesage, such as this, to the thread.

To avoid that happening I'll repeat what I think you put in, hoping that your footnote re-appears on this message.
