(Home) exhaust on diesel Townie

Reading the posts on exhausts I have to pick up my new vehicle, but am having some thoughts about his written description as follows.......

"The vehicle will need a part of the exhaust system replacing although it does drive.."

questioning on the phone he said that he wasn't sure where it was but the exhaust note was now louder that it used to be, but not too bad.

Methinks that he would have got underneath and investigated or is the whole exhaust ready for renewal lumbering me with a bill of a couple of hundred plus ??

Mine went recently just behind the first box, did not make it much louder. Had new system fitted for £270 including flexable joint and lifetime warrenty...

Cheers...don't really want that sort of bill after raking up the cash to buy this one. Looks like a few welded patches in the offing.

Well I had an email from my seller today saying his friend
got underneath and said the back box is the one that is leaking but he said the front bit doesn't look too healthy either.

So what are my options. Don't the exhaust makers do anything for the Diesel Townie and what does the system comprise?

We have a local exhaust makers that are fairly cheap for systems the complete system on my Toyota Supra was only £85 fitted. I could have had it in stainless steel for another £40.

I went in and ordered it and the bloke had a quick look up on the ramp and said come back tomorrow and it will all be ready. They may have to weld a couple of hangers or brackets on the pipes but it all its very well and it sounded and felt great when it was done.

Having just been quoted £275 for non-stainless mid and rear sections of my slightly unusual 4WD Corolla I'd say that it would be worth having the details of your stainless supplier posted here, please, if he does a good job.
