(Home) brakes

I think ive drove with me handbrake on when i pulled up on drive, my both back wheels had really bad smoke coming off them and smells of burning rubber, and my brakes don't work proper now is this threw the handbrake or could something else be wrong?

Jo. Brakes are the most likely cause of the smoke and it is easy to check their operation. If you jack one wheel up in turn, with chocks under the front wheels, try rotating the wheel, by hand, with the handbrake on and then off. Also, get someone to operate the footbrake while you try to turn the wheel. This might establish if the handbrake system is binding or, the hydraulic cylinders, operated by the footbrake, are causing the trouble. It is easy to remove a brake drum and it might be a good idea to do this so that you can inspect the linings, hudraulics etc.
