(Home) Jam 2005 Brean

Please DO NOT book with Warren-Farm.
If you have contact them and say you are part of the Toyota Rally and should not have booked direct.

All - Do not stop at the office by the entrance to the site, go directly to Field 3 and register with me.
Easy to spot me - goatee and glasses , oh and I have a Townace!

Sorry had to repeat it as there are 2 of you, you know who you are! If you don't cancel with Warren-farm you will be charged the normal camping cost and not be sited with the group.

I've had requests to do the BBQ again. I did not do it, but am happy for any body to take it on.

I will have a limited amount of Bio-power Diesel Fuel to sell in 20 litre tubs. Email me to reserve a pot or two at Townaceclive(at)blueyonder.co.uk .

See you there.

- (#862) Neil (torbay), 23 Apr 05 05:16

Do we have any idea on numbers yet....

- (#862) Neil (torbay), 23 Apr 05 05:17

No idea on numbers. It was by Tony's tent but I think his friend/relative arranged the cooking??

- (#862) Clive (Bristol), 23 Apr 05 13:28

Anybody able to bring BBQ(s)?
Any guitar players for a traditional round the camp fire (not allowed but we could imagine) sing song?
Any Scout/Cub leaders like to organise some children games?
Any body want any spare parts? Send me an email and I'll reply if I have what you want. No body panels, no wheels, no income tax no VAT......

Have got hold of a large BBQ half barrel job....

- (#862) neil (torbay), 25 Apr 05 10:08

clive just had a mental picture of you singing com by are (help!)

- (#862) jon, 25 Apr 05 10:15

Not quite what I had in mind, and if you heard me sing you would not recognise the song either.

Half a barrel should fit the bill. So are we going for it? The BBQ that is not the singing!

- (#862) Clive (Bristol), 25 Apr 05 10:39

have also got large amount of charcol as well from friends, they have moved into a flat so they cant have bbqs any more......

- (#862) neil (torbay), 25 Apr 05 11:15

Hello all. Those that came to Brean last year may remember we turned up with the bab's who was only 11 days old at the time! Well this year he will be just 1 (funny that!) and we're wondering how to contain him in a bed.

Last year he just slept is a basket thingy but he's now somewhat more lively, "boosting" all over the place ! The normal travel cot is way tooo big to setup inside the caravan.

Anyone (with loads of kids) have any idea's how we can contain him when it comes to sleeping in the caravan ? We have bunkbeds in there and I guess he will go on the bottom, but how to keep in in there ???

Any (sensible!)ideas gratefully received.

PS. I can bring a load of new BBQ tools for the BBQ.

This just a message to congratulate my Townie for flying through its 4th MOT with no faults. What an awesome vehicle it is, in 4 years of reliable, trouble free motoring my bus (a 1990 royal lounge 4WD) has cost me,excluding wear and tear + service items, less than £400. £350 of that was on the dreaded head gasket routine and rad re-core.

ACE is simply too short a word to describe how wonderful these cars are. The best £3800 i ever spent.
BIG UP THE ACES.

Anybody else think there ace is worth its weight in the proverbial shiny stuff, would like to hear others comments on there ace's

Sorry - put my posting on wrong thread, started another one.

If you could bring your tools that would be great as mine are past their best, as to the one year old holly is 14 months old now and we have a sleep suit / sleeping bag that she goes into, does not have legs she has alot of trouble moving around also the scotch helps....

- (#862) neil (torbay), 26 Apr 05 17:43

when kurtis was young (almost 16 now - look out girls!), we had a mummy type sleeping bag which we attached some old apron straps, tied these around the mattress allowing a little movement for turning on side/back, and he never escaped!
there is duck tape.......

- (#862) Clive (Bristol), 27 Apr 05 05:11

OK, will bring the BBQ tools.

We've already sold the sleep suit thingy cus he too big for it now. Plus it didn't stop him moving about that much. The duck tape sounds like a go'er !!!

Make sure you've all got your wheel nuts on tight, else the babs is likely to "adjust" them for you !

See you all soon......

Hi - This might sound silly, but my son and his partner, Rae, might want to come along to the Jam, but, Rae is worried about where to kip. She has a huge belly, the birth being due in June. I know we are all camping or kipping in the Aces, but does anyone know (Clive perhaps) if there is a bed and breakfast nearby. They want to join in the fun, but Rae needs to sleep in a "real" bed. Thanks for any info. - Joanna

- (#862) jon , 30 Apr 05 12:44

Plenty of B+Bs about but I don't have any contacts.
There are caravans on site for hire but that is for a minimum of 3 nights!
As it is going to be a balmy night how about a hammock?

- (#862) Clive (Bristol), 30 Apr 05 17:40

- (#862) Clive (Bristol), 5 May 05 04:26

Hi all

Thanks for your quick responses to my query. I still don't know if Rae is coming with us. She wants to know if any of us have done midwifery. But, I have another question: I am going with our Townace, but my kids want to join me and bring their own cars. Is that OK? They will be with me, but need their own car for storage, as they are bringing a lot of interesting stuff. (You will know what when we get there - it's a secret!)? Will pay the extra. My daughter's Picasso (sorry for any insults) is the SAME colour as most of the Townies, so it will blend in (a bit). It is her daughter's disability car. I promise to keep her out of the photos. Answers with amounts of extra costs will be appreciated.

We will be turning up on Saturday. It is going to rain Friday and Saturday morning.

Also, how much do we need to pay towards the barby?

See ya - Jo

- (#862) Jo, 11 May 05 17:00

No probs with the midwifery, delivered my twins in the front seat of my old van, did'nt quite make it to the hospital. Should be allright to bring the other cars as long as there in the next field ;-) for the barby just bring some food to chuck on it and an salad you want with it, will be bringing large barby and charcol... see you there...

- (#862) Neil (torbay), 11 May 05 19:04

I've organised two cars to a pitch at no extra cost.
See you there, and by the way still have my marigolds and bread knife from last year's expected baby.

- (#862) Clive (Bristol, UK), 12 May 05 16:13

I'm back.........

The tribe is all set and we will be arriving mid afternoon on Friday. Having just changed Job the last few months have been absolutely hectic!!! Ths will be my first time off since before Christmas!

Yes I did do the BBQ last year (With a little help from a few people...you know who you are!) The half barrel sounds just the ticket, and I am more than happy to lend a hand.

Clive, have you still got that wing mirror? Ours is still missing although it got through the MOT with the caravan mirror I put on!!

See you all tomorrow/saturday/sunday.

- (#862) tony meese, 12 May 05 16:20

Tony

We hope to get down to Brean mid afternoon Friday also, so glad to know we won't be there on our own !

Looking at the Hiace forum a couple of the chaps have decided not to come because the weather forcast is not great and they would be coming a long way for a possible damp weekend, which is fair enough. I hope to see at least one other Hiace turn up tho and a little bit a rain won't be stopping us!

See you all there..................
