Does the 'Hot and Cold Box' work independently or - will it only keep things hot when the heater is on and only keep things cold when the air conditioning is on?

Although connected into the aircon it works totally inependantly of it and the heating system ie. you can have the hotbox on with the aircon blowing if you want to or coolbox with heater on or off.
