Just reporting that we got there, did the rounds of friends, relations, tourist bit etc. and all the way back without the townie missing a beat. Slept in the back (badly). 8500km all together.
The only problem was the lack of capacity in the tank. Has anyone ever tried to fit an extra tank? Any ideas would be more than welcome for next time. Jerrycans are no good because the Polish customs won't let you have more than 20 litres on board.

PS - 120 extra litres would be perfect. I thought about underneath and i thought about an extra floor, but I'm not tech enough to do it without some help.

Peter,
First congrats on the trip!
There are many tank systems on the market. Metal and plastic options in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Do a search on fuel tanks and you will see what I mean.
An autogas fitter may be able to help re an underbody tank and routing of filler neck etc..
Best of luck and let us know how you get on.
