(Home) electric windows

Does anyone know what stops the window winder motor when the drivers side window reaches fully open. On auto (switch fully depressed), the motor seems to keep running after the window is opened, making a terrible racket. Is the stop mechanism part of the switch or the motor?
Cheers....

Switch, as far as I can recall. The voltage drop caused by the stalled motor causes the switch to drop out.
Shouldn't make a noise tho, unless there's a worn drive gear or similar.

You should be able to stop the motor on auto by giving the switch a half- nudge the other way...

Thanks David..
If I set the window winding down on auto and stop it when it gets half way down (by holding the glass), about one second after I stop it, I hear a relay trip, and the motor switches off. I think there is a gear worn at the bottom of the window travel which is not allowing the motor to stall, and the switch to drop out. I guess I'll be dismantling the door this weekend...
