(Home) front suspension prob

hi all
for months now have had a disconcerting rattle on my front suspension. most apparent on an unsmooth road surface. have had both upper ball joints replaced and both shocks, got a little better as one ball joint was worn but still present.
when i go over a speedbump both wheels at the same time then no rattle. but attempting speedbumps with either the left or right first then big "knock" sound.
i am suspecting the anti-roll bar assembly but visual inspection reveals nothing, anyone have any ideas here???

if i undo the assembly, is it under stress naturally?...ie will it spring off..

regards andy... ps hiace j reg

Definitely sounds anti-roll related. You gotta lever each joint or bush looking for play, and the vehicle needs to be sitting level when you do this so the bar isn't stressed.
On the townies, it's common for the bushes to degrade so badly that the bar will float loosely within them.
