Have recently changed fan belt on my 1990 SuperExtra 2ct. Now have all lights illuminating on dash. The charge light goes out but when accelerator pushed lights come on at approx 1500RPM. Checked output to battery and voltage was about 15.5volts. According to Toyota manual this is the IC regalator if one is fitted.Do i have one fitted and if so where can i abtain one. many thanks again

Have now removed drivers side floor panel, by the alternator have found a disconnected plug but unable to see where it connects, wire seems to be yellow and blue, would assume from a sensor somewhere.

Sounds much too high. there will only be one plug on the alternator, and if there's an external reg it's behind the glovebox...

Thanks Dave will now put alternator back ,checked brushes when out anyhow, is the regulator adjustable and easy to get too

Re-fitted alternator, plug was off oil pressure switch, there now seems to be no problem, must have been a dirty contact, an extremely time consuming project, thanks for help

Help Ihave a 2L town ace and desperately need an alternator. As I have an unleaded version this is proving impossible. Can anyone help as Im lost without my car and without an alternator I couldnt even sell it if needed
