(Home) space cruiser wiring

I require info on space cruiser electrics. On my B reg are the electrics the same as later models. I have aproblem tracing a fault. The charge light stays on. I have replaced the altenater with one off a D reg. They seem the same except the plug on my one did'nt fit. I have managed to connect the wires but still have the same problem. do I need to change any of thr wiring loom. Thanks the real clive hall

Regulator problem? Blown "ign", "charge", or "gauge" fuse?

The Spacie had a model uplift in 86 (D Reg) to the 3Y engine plus a number of other changes. The alternator also changed with the regulator being made integral, hence the change in connections.

I'll send you the scans from the SpaceCruiser manual electrics section. See if you can work it out from that. I'm afraid it's 12 years since I offloaded my 1983 SpaceCruiser so my memory of it isn't too good.

There is a single (red?), lead from the positive terminal of the battery, check that that is making a clean connection.
