i was driving down the motorway last night when all my dashboard warning lights came on allthough the engine was still running then a short while after my brake pedal became very stiff and could hardly press it down which obviously made the brakes not work so i had to use the hand brake, allthough the foot brake does work ever so slightly if i press as hard as i can, what is wrong with it???? the fluid level is correct. also my turbo lights are never active when driving the only time they are on is when i turn the electrics on before starting the engine????? any answers??? please e-mail me if you can help at ladiessovtek@hotmail.co.uk

Looks like you've lost vacuum. The pump is integral with the alternator and failure of the alternator would account for the 'xmas tree' effect (lights on dash). With it happening so quickly maybe the drive belt has broken. Otherwise get the alternator checked.
