Hi again......

After my last few posts here is where I am at now....

I have a 1992 Hiace 2.4TD Super Custom that wasn't charging the battery.....

Since then I have bought a new battery and a new alternator...

I am still not chatging the battery.....

HELP!!!!!!!!

Any ideas would be greatfully recieved.

I meant to say that sometimes, at tickover, it reads 13.8v across the battery but if you rev it it seems to go down.

Also if I put my lights/heater on while at tickover it goes down to 11.8v(ish)

THis sounds like the regulator to me but it's internal so the regulator is as new as the alternator..

Any thoughts?

check all connections, you may be seeing a voltage drop between engine and battery. Other than that, reg or possibly a sticky brush. Was the alt new or recon?

Hmmmm, I feel embarresed now!!!!


Turns out that my alternator belt was loose!!!
