(Home) cool box retrofit

My Lit-Ace FXV has aircon but no Ice box. Is it feasible to fit one from a scrapper, or does it involve re-gassing etc. beyond the scope of a DIY job?

Not really feasable. Need to change some of the aircon pipes under the car, hack holes in the floor, add extra bits of loom, etc etc. And yes, you'll need to degas and regas..

a much easier way of giving yourself the benefit of a fridge....although admittedly it won't make ice, is to put one of those 'plugin' fridge things. I've got the ice box but the air con's US at the moment (seized compressor) and I am still contemplating whether to spend the money a replacement would set me back so I've plugged one of these in at the rear cigar lighter ....and now I've discovered how (BOK) to turn the van off proprly its left in and with a few cans in it all the time as the power goes off when you turn the ign off. Its better than nothing and if you really do want more than that Camping Gaz do a plug in 'cooler/heat box' for a lot more money.

Mike
in future if you start a new thread for a new topic, your post will get better visibility.

The fusebox is at the right hand side of the passenger footwell, tucked in behind the coolbox
