(Home) oil additives

whilst having a look on ebay i came acros this and was thinking of ordering some but i thought i would see if anyone else has already tried it yet as i know there are so many different types and makes of oil additives out there on the market and a lot of them claim to be able to do the impossible whilst some are tried and tested such as STP and WYNES etc. The add was as follows :: AMETECH ENGINE RESTORE OIL
This one really works! Restores compression in 500miles :: there was a pretty impressive write up on it but then again anyone can type something onto a comp its weather or not its true or not that counts. It claims to be able to replace bore wear etc with a special coating, i am a bit sceptical as if this was true then surely all the garages in the world would stock it and there would be no need to recone engines unless they went with a bang!! The plus side to it is that the company has 100% feedback with almost 1000 sales and everyone of them praises it. your help would be appreciated as i was going to flush out the engine again and add this instead of taking of the sump as you suggested as like you said it looks like it isnt a half hour job

Hmmmn, if you do a web search for 'oil additives' you will find a lot of info...much contrary to various makers claims.
I must admit I've tried a few myself (been suckered into??!)in the past on various vehicles.....'prolong' (do search) being the last. The prolong did 'appear to' help a primera which we have had some years.
Nothing cures lost metal though.
Have you had your compression measured to compare against some specs?
