(Home) engine shakes

hi guys... need an expert advice very bad... after i start the engine, my townace shakes so bad making load sounds but when i step on my gas pedal the shakes disappeared... i notice that everytime my townace goes idle, it shakes, like stopping on a stop light and shifting back to Drive before i step on the pedal... my father-in-law told me that i should check my clutch becasue its slipping already.

please help... thanks.

Low tickover?
Exhaust knocking?
Clutch would not make the engine bang.

Low tickover (check for loose adjustment screws on the diesel pump) or (possibly) an air leak at the fuel filter, or a blocked injector. Any smoke?

NO SMOKE... just shaking sounds... it happens when i start the engine or when the townie move forward on Drive without hitting the gas pedal.

my townace emits black smokes when going uphill or when i'm trying to overtake a vehicle... going from a much slower speed to a faster one.

...it just shakes. i think the sounds was produced by all the shakes.

What rpm is it idling at when hot...and cold....?

Just an idea Have a look at the engine mountings to make sure they are not loose or split.

i mean 'idling' is when shifting from Neutral to Drive without stepping on the gas pedal and when i start the engine... oh its cold.

Could it be possible that the engine have not enough motor oil? May level is somewhere between the middle and F mark. =)

We know what you mean, but what rpms are indicated on the tachometer at this time? Should be around 800. Any lower could be uneven.

If your car does not have a tachometer (rev-counter)you'd need a garage to check and adjust the idle speed before continuing.

You want to answer the question? Might help me help you...

RPM is 800 Rounds per minute...

- (#1659) Jeffrey, 27 Jun 05 22:57

And it's shaking at that speed? You need to look at compression, injectors, and engine moounts.

Thanks a lot David... =)
