(Home) drive belts

I have a 1990 2.0 turbo diesel lite ace FXV, rear wheel drive, double air con. It produces a classic fan belt squeal when the air con clicks in. Turn air con off, and you get no squeals, so it would appear to be the air con drive belt.

Lifted passenger seat and found a gaggle of drive belts, not just the one, but four, all driven off a single shaft with four pullleys. Reminded me of a steam-powered textile mill.

Some questions: Has anyone done belt changes on a four-belt aetup? The belt in question is closest to the engine - will I have to remove/re-adjust all the others to get at it? How do I tension the belt(s) once fitted?

Many thanks, James.

it's in the archives, and we were just discussing it earlier on today, a couple of threads down.

Slacken the nut in the middle of the pulley, then the tensioning bolt is underneath, facing downwards, just in front of the sump...
