Go back to the home page using the link above and try the insurance page of the site for a start. It is a little outdated but it will give you some names and numbers to begin with.

I learnt in the past that it's very easy to go through the yellow pages from one company to another making sure the first question you ask is "Do you insure Japanese imports?", that way you don't have to go through your details only to be told they don't.

Try TESCO, they're happy with imports.

Where are you? Mainland UK or elsewhere?

Norwich Union were my first insurer, ie, for my imported Masterace. However, for the past three years I have been with Liverpool Victoria. Both these companies seem happy with imports although it seems that you take pot luck in who you speak to. There are posts in the archives detailing members experiences

I also had major problems obtaining insurance for my Townie - almost sold it again for this reason. However, all's well that ends well - I got good fully comp. from Liverpool Victoria (after reading about it somewhere in ace annwers). My biggest problem was that I live in Northern Ireland and insurance companies often don't want to insure anything here, neverming Jap imports. The guy I bought it from (also in NI) had it insured with a Dublin company called Quinn Direct, but they have since stopped doing my model - 2.2TD 1994 Super Extra as new business (what a pain!). They apparently still do most Jap imports, so they are probably still worth getting quotes from, especially if you live anywhere in Ireland.
