(Home) handbrake repair

The cable in my handbrake went this weekend. I'm pretty sure it's the cable that went and I'm considering fixing it myself. I've never tried it before just wondering if anyone knows if it's a big task and should be left to a mechanic or not?

The cable is in two parts. Hand brake to a link just at the front of the fuel tank is a single cable, and from there via two cables to the rear wheels.
Total loss of handbrake would be the front part or the connecting link. One wheel would point to a single rear cable.
The front part will need the drivers floor plate to be removed to thread it through. The rear may need to have the fuel tank dropped to reach it. I managed without removing the tank but I do have small hands. Connection is easy enough, getting the adjustments correct can be a pain - adjust get up try it, get down adjust and so on.....

Thanks Phil, I'll have a look later and see how I get on.
