That's the price, yes. What's the problem with the original? Recores are less than £150 and endtanks can be silversoldered or brazed.

it started to leak about 3 weeks ago,so i took it to the garage, not sure if it was the rad or a hose, they took it out to find the raditor had been repaired a few times before.it was sent off to be repaired and the mechanic said that it was only a temorary repair and that it might be best if i could find a new one.he also said one off the cores was very badly damaged so he removed it,now will this have any effect on my car's cooling system ?

A local radiator specialist will recore the whole radiator and bring it back to "as new" condition at much less cost than a new radiator. I think that your garage/mechanic were wrong to go to all that time & trouble to remove the radiator, just for a temporary repair and, to remove part of the core meant that they had the radiator partially dismantled anyway.
With part of the core removed, the radiator will not be as effective and, as long as there are no more leaks, you should drive with an extra vigilant eye on the temperature gauge. The only real course of action is for the vehicle to be off road for a few more days, with the radiator in the hands of a specialist

As John says 100%

I had mine re-cored a couple of months ago. Back within 48 hours, looked like new and with a 12 month warranty for £142 inc VAT.
