Armrest repairs

The armrest covers are easy enough to take off if you look for the elasticated section - it's like pulling a tight sock down over your heel and then off your foot.

The foam is hard set around a steel insert and one of mine was in a bad way - foam split away completely in places. I repaired it with silicon rubber sealer (the proper rubber stuff that's getting less popular on the shelves because of its price). I applied it gradually over a few days to ensure that it was set - if it's too thick (over 5mm roughly) it takes forever to set right through - also I put the armrests on the central heating boiler to accelerate the curing. It worked well.
