Visitors frequently applaud with comments like, "Thanks, advice here just saved me £80 on my insurance premium" or "Without this site I would never have been able to get my 'Ace runnning again".
There is no commercial sponsorship, and if there were we would be bothered by pop up adverts and wondering whether there is any bias in the advice that we find here. Both websites are run by owners for owners - let's keep it that way. Running an owners' club is sometimes suggested - an Estima one was started recently - but the risk there is that you miss the point and just create more work and expense.
I invite you to make a donation in return for what Ace Answers has provided. Even a few donations each month can fund the operating costs and provide a modest income to begin to cover the time I spend working on Ace Answers - which up to now I've effectively funded myself because I am part-time self-employed and part-time employed. Donations fund many technical reference websites. It requires a different way of looking at things - perhaps "what happens if enough of us don't contribute?" rather than "is this a fair way to spread the load?".
If you already contribute a lot, say by answering queries on the BoK, then we all appreciate that instead of paying in, thank you. If you don't yet feel you've had much benefit, that's fine too, just bear in mind the possibility of making a donation but don't put it off for ever.
